Additional Property Attributes

Former Church redeveloped into new Public Library.

Former Use: The Site is currently identified by the Town of South Berwick Assessors Office as a portion of Lot 25 on Tax Map 28. The Site is improved with one building the Site Building, which is currently vacant, but was formerly utilized as the St. Michaels Church. Remaining portions of the Site consist of asphalt-paved parking areas/driveways and limited landscaping. Based on available historical information, the Site reportedly consisted of unimproved and/or agricultural land of the W.A. Young homestead prior to 1887. Young Street was reportedly constructed circa 1880 and the Site was improved with the existing Site Building St. Michaels Church in 1887. The Site Building was utilized as the St. Michaels Church until the building was vacated in 2008. The Site Building has remained unoccupied to the present date and is proposed to be renovated into a new Town of South Berwick Public Library.
