Additional Property Attributes

The current building was originally built in 1936, but was rebuilt in 1953 after a fire. The building has burned down twice in its operating history. The basement of the building housed a restaurant that closed 18-20 years ago the remainder of the basement is currently used for light storage. There is a retail store on the first floor of the building that sells animal feed and supplies the remainder of the building is either used for storage of product or is empty. Large unused machinery is present throughout the building. The machinery was formerly used for sorting, storing, and bagging grain. Two large grain silos are present on the northern wall of the building, and an additional four are present on the roof. The railroad borders the facility to the north, and a sheltered concrete loading dock has been built adjacent to the building. The storage barn is used to store bales of animal bedding.

Former Use: The Property was sold to the Farmers Exchange Co. by John and Eaffie Swain in April, 1904 and has been under their ownership since. The building is currently being used as a retail store for animal feed and supplies.
