Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The 27,462 sf building at 13 Hope Avenue was built in 1900 and consists of a two-story structure constructed of brick and wood. The parcel is 34,704 square feet and is located in a manufacturing zone. Historically, both manufacturing and wholesale distribution companies have occupied the property - Worcester Pressed Aluminum Company, American Pressed Metals, Block New England, and most recently, R.E. Michels Company Inc. In November 2003, Alan Bloch donated the property to the Jewish Federation of Central Massachusetts. Due to concerns about indoor air quality and the confirmed presence of VOCs, including TCE, the building has remained vacant. More recently as a direct result of this funding, a subslab system has been installed and in-situ chemical oxidation will be occuring. The building is currently in the process of being retrofitted for space to be leased to an auctioneering company.
