Additional Property Attributes

This area has been investigated by EPA as a part of the Former Carter White Lead Site. Under the Superfund Removal Action decision for the Former Carter White Lead Site, portion of the onsite soils were removed in 2011. Engineering Controls are in place to prevent direct contact of any residual lead-contaminated soils. The former owner, Moweco, sold the property to the Open Door Mission in 2013. The Open Door Mission is a non-profit organization serving the homeless population. The space is currently being used as a donation drop-off center and an urban garden. Former Use: Historically a blacksmith, carpenter, lumber room, chemical warehouse and Carter White Lead Company. Currently the site is utilized by the Open Door Mission as a donation center.
