Additional Property Attributes

Site was formerly a hospital and an anchor for the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans. Flooded during Hurricane Katrina, the site has remained closed since 2005. Victory Development purchased the site as part of a larger redevelopment project but the vision, which included demolishing the existing structure, didn't align with the community and received significant push back. St. Margaret's Daughters, a nonprofit focused on affordable senior housing, purchased the property in 2009. USTs formerly associated with the backup generator which were flooded following Hurricane Katrina were removed in January 2015. Asbestos and general debris were removed from the property in 2017, readying the site for reuse. In June 2021, St. Margaret's partnered with Woodward Desing+Build to redevelop the property as a medical facility and senior living center with a special focus on income-limited residents and people with Alzheimer's Disease.
