Additional Property Attributes

The Phase I Report identified three recognized environmental conditions, defined by the ASTM as evidence of a past, current, or future potential for a release of oil or hazardous materials (OHM) at this property. (PPF attached to QR 2, 1/1/05-3/31/05) Scoped work at pilot location complete. Phase I & II submitted to EPA in previous reporting period. (PPF attached to QR 7, 4/1/06-6/30/06)

Former Use: The Site was almost completely occupied by a one story building, except for a small paved area between Quincy Street and the building. No vegetation was observed on the Site. Property conveyed by Boston DND to DB Housing Inc. in April 2012 for redevelopment. The building was demolished and new housing is currently being built. Site History: prior to 1926 - vacant 1926 - John MacDonald, Inc. constructed the existing one-story brick, concrete and steel structure on the Site for an automobile garage business 1943- converted to be a light manufacturing shop for the Hess Machine & Mfg. Co, Inc. 1951-1993 - Use unknown 1993 - unpermitted auto repair garage 1996 - City of Boston Forecloses on Property 1997 - Boston Police Department began using the building for seized car storage 2012 - Property Conveyed to DB Housing Inc. for development, building demolished.
