Additional Property Attributes

This property was an active K-12 public school until the early 2000's when population declines in the area closed many schools in rural Montana. The Town of Flaxville has a renewed interest in redeveloping the property to provide additional housing and office and/or retail space as oil activity close by in the Bakken oil fields seriously strains what little housing is available.

Former Use: The building was constructed in 1959 as the Flaxville School. An addition was added in 1967. Numerous window retrofitting and interior improvements have been made over the years but following the schools' closure in 2004, only minimal maintenance has occurred. The building is in good structural shape.
