Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The undeveloped site was historically used as a sand and gravel pit from 1968 to 2001, until the site was acquired by the Friends of the Wissatinnewag (which merged with the Nolumbeka Project in 2013). Dumping of materials on the site has been reported since the 1990s. The Phase I recommends removal and proper disposal of debris, and a Phase II subsurface investigation to assess potential impacts. A Phase II scope of work and cost estimate was developed. As there were insufficient funds to complete this work under the current EPA agreement, an application was submitted to the EPA Region 1 office's Targeted Brownfields Assessment program.
