Additional Property Attributes

The property is currently leased by multiple tenants associated with commercial use, warehousing, and office space. The past industrial uses of the property were identified as recognized environmental conditions. Based on the Phase II assessments, arsenic and formaldehyde were detected in the soil at concentrations exceeding the IDEM RCG residential screening levels. Asbestos and lead-based paint were also identified in the property structure. Redevelopment options are currently ongoing. The community approved the option in November 2016 to transform the property into the new Jasper Library and Cultural Arts Center.

Former Use: A large building makes up the west portion of the property. Parts of the building are currently used for office and warehouse space. Past uses of the property include desk manufacturing. The current owner is Sternberg Brothers Rentals LLC.
