Property Highlights

Former Motel where the Beatles stayed when they played in New Orleans. Site later transitioned to a retirement community. The site was purchased by a private entity from the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority with the condition that the site be redeveloped in 2 years. The site has not been redeveloped and MQVCDC would like to take ownership of the site to redevelop it to fit with the surrounding community. A Phase I report developed by MQVN CDC indicated that the site has at least 1 and possible more USTs.

Former Use: Site was a former hotel and then senior living center. It was flooded during Hurricane Katrina and subsequently abandoned. Mary Queen of Viet Nam Community development Corporation is in the process of purchasing the site to redevelop it as a community garden, senior housing, a community kitchen and other community-related services.
