Additional Property Attributes

The Property is located along a major rail line and a major highway (Highway 50A). The property is owned by the Truckee Carson Irrigation District and is presently undeveloped; however, the foundations of former structures can be seen. Churchill Economic Development Authority (CEDA) is working to supply infrastructure to the parcel so it can be developed as a rail port to service agriculture interest in the area. A Phase I ESA was conducted in which RECs were identified.

Former Use: As early as 1907, the Property was developed land associated with a railroad Depot. The Property appears to have been a rail port for the Southern Pacific Railroad since 1907 until the 1950s. A turntable, roundhouse, oil house, oil sump, cesspool, ash pit, engine house, coal house, sand house, and a 30,000 barrel aboveground storage tank were historically located on the Property between the southern portions of the railroad where the track splits. An ore sampler and shed is located north of the track.
