Additional Property Attributes

The Phase I was completed through DEQ's Targeted Brownfield Assessment Program, which is funded through an EPA 128a grant. Cleanup and demo of the building was completed under DEQ's Site Cleanup Assistance Program, a state funded program.

Former Use: This property was formerly operated by Eagle-Picher industries from 1962-1986. It served as a laboratory and manufacturer of scientific equipment such as environmental collection jars. The facility has been vacant since 2008, when Eagle-Picher filed for Bankruptcy. The ownership of the property was transferred to the EP Custodial Trust following the bankruptcy; so that the contamination on the property could be addressed. The City of Miami purchased the property after their phase I ESA was completed. DEQ hired a consultant to perform the Phase I ESA.
