Additional Property Attributes

A Phase I Assessment and Asbestos Survey were undertaken prior to demolition of the barn. The assessment revealed no RECs but for four exceptions: Soil stains were noted on the garage floor and outside of the building noting an apparent release of petroleum products. Staining around the hydraulic lift represents possible PCB contamination. It is unknown where the garage floor drain discharges leaving the possibility that any discharge entered the septic system. Finally, two PVC pipes were located outside of the garage. Unknown if illegal dumping in relation to the auto repair activities occurred at the site. Specs were prepared based on the RECs and no contamination was found during demolition. Green space restored. Project complete.

Former Use: This 5 acre site includes a 11,200 sq. ft warehouse/barn that was constructed between 1960 and 1962. We do not know what year the metal barn was constructed. From our observations of the thousands of items inside, the barn was used for storage of construction equipment due to the large number of paint and oil cans, as well as rotting lumber. There is possibly a heating oil tank somewhere on the grounds, as the barn has full utilities. There is also a workshop and a hydraulic lift for auto repair, along with tires and abandoned cars inside the barn. The barn has been abandoned and unused for quite a while given its poor and unsafe condition.
