Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The earliest information available on the subject property was a 1907 fire insurance map, showing some shed structures associated with the Selma Building Supply company. A 1925 Sanborn Map shows the Dallas Cooperage Company occupied the site, but it was also identified as a junk yard. The 1949 and 1963 Sanborn Maps show a junk yard, auto wrecking and auto repair service. A gasoline depot with six or seven ASTs was shown on the northeast corner of the property. Visible evidence of the former ASTs in the form of concrete pads was observed during the site visit. City directories dated from 1926 through the 1960s and 1970s show similar listings. Beginning in 1980, it was identified as a scrap metal yard, auto parts and welding supply business. Several mounds of unknown origin were observed on the site during the site visit.
