Additional Property Attributes

The Site is comprised of 1.80 acres of commercial land developed as an asphalt-paved parking lot situated south of West Water Street, east of Jackson Street, and north of West Market Street. Access to and from the Site is available from both West Water and Jackson Streets.

Former Use: The Site is comprised of 1.80 acres of commercial land developed as a municipal parking lot, situated south of West Water Street, east of Jackson Street, and north of West Market Street. Access to and from the Site is available from both West Water and Jackson Streets. The Site has been developed as a parking lot since at least 2004, according to a review of historical aerial photographs. Prior to being developed as a parking lot, city directories and Sanborn Maps indicate that the Site was developed with several former commercial buildings fronting West Water, Jackson, and West Market Streets including bakeries, barber shops, drug stores, a dance hall, hotels, apartments, a gun repair shop, and a movie theatre dating back to at least 1886. The city directories also indicate that Mercury Dry Cleaners operated at 124 Jackson Street at least in 1954.
