Additional Property Attributes

Much of property was a Leather Tannery in the early 1900s with suspected metals and PAHs. Soil samples did not encounter metals or PAHs. New use is a Community Nature Park. It has a parking area, information kiosk, a trail (approximately 1/2 mile), a large loom for children to experience, a bee/caterpillar habitat, bridges, stumps to climb on and explore and a 450' boardwalk connecting a children's center, the Winchester Learning Center, to the park. With a few minor upgrades (planned), the park will be completely ADA accessible. The park is open to the public and its ribbon cutting grand opening happened in early October 2021.
