Additional Property Attributes

Second Quarter 2019 CCLRC was retained by the City of East Cleveland to demolish the former police, traffic maintenance and impound facility. The property is now vacant and deteriorating. Third Quarter 2019 - The Phase I ESA indicated two RECs. REC-1 noted that the property was historically used as an auto repair shop dating back to at least 1935. Between the 1950s and 1990s the building was utilized as a service garage by the City of East Cleveland. Due to the unknown nature of the former operations, impacts may have occurred to the soil, soil vapor and groundwater. REC-2 noted a gasoline UST adjacent to the northern wall of the service garage on the 1950-52 Sanborn fire insurance maps. No information was obtained that indicated the removal or closure of the UST. CCLRC continue to work with the City of East Cleveland to demolish the building. CCLRCs USEPA involvement complete.

Former Use: The City of East Cleveland acquired this former auto repair shop around 1940 and used the structure as a City service garage for police and fire vehicles until the 1990s. It is now requesting assistance in performing environmental assessments to determine the extent of petroleum contamination.
