Additional Property Attributes

The Phase I and II ESAs were performed concurrently. The assessment identified elevated metals concentrations and naturally occurring asbestos in mine waste rock. Waste rock and ore materials associated with lode gold mining commonly contain naturally elevated levels of heavy metals and metalloids. No evidence of ore processing was observed at the property, and no gold-bearing ore was observed at the ground surface.

Former Use: The property is located to the southwest of the intersection of Idaho Maryland Road and Brunswick Road. The property is currently undeveloped and vacant. Historical records identify the Roundhole Shaft portal on the subject property. The vertical shaft was used primarily to access deep underground workings associated with the historical Idaho Maryland Mine. Mine waste rock is present on the property. There has also been evidence of unauthorized transient camping within the property, and several trails and unpaved roads traverse the property.
