Additional Property Attributes

The Phase I and Phase II ESAs were performed concurrently. The assessments revealed no significant concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons in areas of former undergrounds storage tanks (removed in 1995). Asbestos material and lead containing paint were identified at the primary structure on the property. Arsenic and cobalt were detected in soil samples, but appeared to be similar to naturally-occurring background concentrations in the region.

Former Use: The property was occupied by AT&T, and includes an approximately 6,200-square-foot single-story building (constructed circa 1975), an approximately 1,200-square-foot covered bay, a lift, dumpster and recycling canopies, and storage areas. The property was vacant from at least 1888. Previous structures on the property included a transformer house and stone flume. In 1995 two underground storage tanks (8,000-gallon and 4,000-gallon) were removed from the property. Minor concentrations of hydrocarbons were detected in a soil sample obtained below one gasoline UST, and approximately 25 cubic yards of soil were removed from this for landfill disposal.
