Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The property was purchased by OVIBDC from CSX Transportation in the 1990s for future nonresidential development. The site formerly made up the southern portion of the CSXT Benwood Rail Yard, but there is no indication of any significant activity at the site related to rail and/or other industrial or commercial purposes. The site was filled with coal mine spoil and slag material as well as spoil from the highway cut. The property is bordered by the Ohio River to the west, McMechen Run to the south, and the CSXT Benwood Rail Yard to the north and east.
