Additional Property Attributes

The property is a 0.157 acre tract of land that has been improved with a four story, steel and wood d brick structure originally constructed as a dry goods store in approximately 1885. The building has not been maintained during its vacancy and is in disrepair. The northern one-third of the roof and portions of the wood flooring on the first and second floor have collapsed. Water damage within the building is extensive. The water damage has apparently contributed to the presence of mold throughout the building. Based on interviews with Mr. Tom Dunn, site owner, the structure formerly housed a steam press and dry cleaning operation on the second floor. One hydraulic elevator and 3 sumps are also present at the site. A historic switchyard is located 500-feet south of the property. Potential asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold exist, as well as pigeon feces. Former Use: Constructed in 1885 and a dry goods store until the 1940s, then a department store until the 1980s. Phase I ESA not delivered. Could not meet ASTM standards.
