Additional Property Attributes

Property was transferred from Main South Community Development Corporation to The Community Builders, Inc. The original 533,000 loan to MSCDC was repaid and a 200,000 loan was provided to The Community Builders (Loomworks I Limited Partnership) for the remaining remediation.

Former Use: The site is a portion of the former Crompton & Knowles Loomworks, which manufactured machinery for the weaving industry during the 21st century. In recent years, the building was used for storage and light manufacturing. The four-story, 125,000 building is now vacant and environmental investigations reveal a variety of contaminants.
