Property Highlights

Former Use: The New Life Center is located at 411 East Landry Street in Opelousas, LA. The site was a former hotel constructed around the 1950s which was converted into a women's shelter in the 1990s. The property consists of approximately 38,000 sq. ft. building on a 1-acre site. The Phase I ESA found the following RECs: three former auto repair facilities located near the subject property. Also, suspected Lead-based paint (LBP), Asbestos containing materials (ACM), and mold due to the age of construction and site visit observations. Future reuse is unknown at this time. In January 2022, the City of Opelousas issued an RFP to attract developers to the site.
