Additional Property Attributes

The private owner conducted soil remediation in May 2012, and constructed a one-story convenience store during summer 2012. The area surrounding the convenience store is a paved parking lot. As of October 2012, the owner reports that he is continuing to work with MassDEP and his environmental consultant to address ongoing groundwater contamination issues (petroleum).

Former Use: The property consists of two lots which were formerly part of gas station. The gas station ceased operation in the late 1980s. The building which previously occupied the property was demolished in 2000. The lots were privately owned until May 8, 1997, when the City acquired them through the tax foreclosure process. The lots were sold by the City at auction on December 14, 2007.
