Additional Property Attributes

Parcel covered a large area where decades long dumping and illegal burning had occured. Numerous abandoned vehicles and appliances were removed during clean-up activities during 2010-2012. At the far end of the property was a trailer that was being utilized as a meth lab. It was cleaned and removed by the CalRecycle during 2008, before the ESAs were prepared. Staining and ash remain at the residence site which has not been re-assigned by the Yurok Real Estate Program. A flat, easily assessed section of the parcel that was cleaned of illegal dumping, abandoned vehicles, and debris is currently being utilized as a storage and staging area by the Yurok Tribe's Roads and Maintenance departments for various grades/sizes of rock for their work.

Former Use: Based on a review of historical data sources, the oldest documentation is a 1947 aerial photograph that indicates the Subject Property was heavily vegetated with no development. Areas of the Subject Property are visibly cleared beginning in the 1970s. It is unknown when illegal dumping began on the Subject Property. Some evidence of illegal dumping is evident in a 2005 aerial photograph.
