Additional Property Attributes

The City of Gallup is working with developers and the New Mexico State Land Office to formulate assessment and cleanup plans, as well as redevelopment plans.

Former Use: The former Boardman Salvage Yard operated as a private trailer/mobile home park and later as a salvage and recycling yard (circa 1965 to 2003). Five small wood houses were constructed at the Site sometime between 1952 and 1978. During the 25 year operation as a salvage and recycling yard, Site activities likely included automobile maintenance and the use and storage of hazardous substances and petroleum products, including acid and lead batteries. The City of Gallup acquired the property in 2006 for redevelopment. Significant solid waste removal and partial demolition of the residences has occurred since 2006. The City hopes to turn site into an industrial park.
