Additional Property Attributes

These properties are the site of the traditional, historic Yurok Village, Tsurai. They are on a predominantly steep slope and the bluff between the City of Trinidad proper and Old Home Beach along the Pacific Ocean, south of Trinidad Head. Residences and structures were removed by the City after condemning them in 1916 however the properties are still utilized culturally and ceremonially by Yurok Tribal members and ancestors of the village inhabitants.

Former Use: These properties are between the City of Trinidad residential streets and the Old Home Beach along the Pacific Ocean, within the Yurok Ancestral Territory. They are currently vacant, lightly wooded lots transversed by several public trails that travel from the city streets (Edwards and Wagner) of Trinidad to allow access to the ocean beaches. They were condemned and moved into the City ownership in the early 1900's but have been cared for and maintained by the Tsurai Ancestral Society (TSA).. There are several easements associated with them, owned by the Humboldt North Coast Land Trust
