Additional Property Attributes

The subject site has been identified as a nuisance property at a potential flooding area in the City of Mitchell. The City of Mitchell is working with the current property owner to abate the nuisance condition at the property by demolishing the structure. The City of Mitchell believes that demolition is the appropriate remedy due to the deterioration, the past flooding and possible future flood damage that can occur due to the location of the structure. The building is currently a residential structure. The City officials and leaders will support green space in this because of the current proximity to the Dry Run Creek City Park. Future redevelopment for the property is not an option. The community has been included on discussions about the current condition and location of the building, and there is support for the demolition.
