Additional Property Attributes

The City has selected this property and the surrounding properties as the most suitable location for the site of two new middle schools that the city plans to construct to replace its outdated and overpopulated existing middle school.

Former Use: This property is part of a larger mill complex initially developed around the turn of the twentieth century. This mill complex was first occupied by the Lafayette Worsted Company, which was a textile processing operation. By 1963, the mill complex was operated by the Argonne Worsted Co. and by the Old Co. in 1965. ACS Industries acquired the mill complex in 1967. Since that time, the mill complex has been used to manufacture and store scouring pads and other types of cleaning products. Industrial activities at the mill complex generally ceased in the early 2000's.
