Additional Property Attributes

The Site consists of an approximately 1.3-acre parcel which hosts two buildings: 1. the fertilizer barn, an approximately 8,000-square foot building, which includes fertilizer stalls used for fertilizer material storage and mixing a bagging room for fertilizer bagging and office space and 2. the garage, an approximately 3,500-square foot building with separate rooms used for equipment maintenance, pesticide storage and mixing, and seed storage.

The Site was most recently used for fertilizer and pesticide mixing and storage but is currently unoccupied. Twin State Fertilizer was reportedly in operation at the Site from 1972 to 2008 and repackaged seed, fertilizer, and pesticides, including organophosphates and nerve agents. The southeastern corner of the Site was reportedly used for bulk petroleum storage for over four decades. The vast majority of chemicals, containers, and equipment associated with pesticides were removed in 2009 by the EPA and VAAFM.
