Additional Property Attributes

This parcel once housed the annealing building of the Capewell Manufacturing Company and it is suspected that releases of both chlorinated and petroleum constituents occurred on the property. In March 2012, the City of Hartford was awarded a 500,000 grant from the State of Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development for further investigation and remediation. 120 Wyllys Street: Following the Phase I ESA funded by the MetroHartford Brownfields Program Assessment Grant, the City of Hartford leveraged an additional 56,800 for subsurface investigation of the property. The Corporation for Independent Living provided 20,600 for preparation of a Remedial Action Plan, Soil Management Plan, and design of a Subslab Soil Depressurization System. CIL is preparing design plans for construction of two residential Townhomes with garages on the property.

Former Use: The site's current owner, Capewell Court Holdings, LLC, took title on 2/2/2009. The City of Hartford is in the end stages of a foreclosure on the property. In the meantime, the City has a Judicial Order permitting it to access the property for any testing.
