Additional Property Attributes

Lamar School building was constructed in 1910, with additions in 1947. The buildings were utilized as public elementary school from 1910 though the 1990s. In the early 2000s, the property was purchased by New Covenant Hispanic Ministry and a portion of the 1947-constructed buildings were renovated to hold church services. The remainder of the building not renovated by the church is in an advanced state of disrepair. The original Lamar School building is listed as a Mississippi Historic Landmark.
