Additional Property Attributes

Hughes County Commissioner requested that DEQ conduct an asbestos inspection and project design on the property. The Brownfields program provided technical assistance on the project. The DEQ Site Cleanup Assistance Program hired a consultant to perform a structural assessment and asbestos project design on the building. The building is structurally unsound. SCAP did a wet demolition to remove asbestos from the property while demolishing the unsound structure. The DEQ Site Cleanup Assistance Program is a program that is funded by the State of Oklahoma. Former Use: This building was built in 1946 and operated as a movie theater. The theater closed prior to 1980. It was used for storage for many years.
