Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Sioux Steel Company, formerly the Sioux Falls Corrugating Company, operates at the Site. The Site was first developed in approximately 1890 with a quarry near the central portion of the Site. Approximately three structures existed on-site during the period from 1891 until 1896. A warehouse with a rail platform was added in approximately 1911 near the southwest corner of the Site (the original portion of the main building may consist of this warehouse). The river channel on-site was filled sometime between 1916 and 1924. According to the County Assessor, the original portion of the main building was constructed in 1920. The on-site quarry was filled sometime between 1952 and 1958. Many additions were added to the main building over the years. The plastics building was constructed on-site sometime between 1985 and 1990. The facility is currently an active manufacturer of grain bins, buildings, livestock equipment and garden beds.
