Property Highlights

The subject property is currently an undeveloped lot within the city of Monroe, Louisiana. The earliest available record of the subject property dates back to the Selman Field Army Air Corps Base, originally constructed in 1942 for the training of pilots during the course of WWII. Available aerial photographs of Selman Field are limited but do appear to include visible representation of the subject property with an office building along the western portion of the site and possibly barracks along the south side of Carrier Drive. The base was decommissioned in 1945 and the subject property along with the surrounding parcels was returned to the control of the City of Monroe in 1947. The earliest available aerial photograph from the EDR search dates back to 1949 and shows the subject property as an undeveloped vacant lot. The adjoining properties during site reconnaissance include Chennault Air Museum to the north and northwest, a vacant commercial structure to the northeast, and vacant lots to the east, south, and west. The City of Monroe has owned the property since 1949. A Phase I ESA was conducted for the property on September 28, 2020. This assessment has revealed no evidence of RECs in connection with the property.
