About the Water Finance Clearinghouse

 

The Water Finance Clearinghouse is a web‐based portal that can help communities locate information and resources to inform on decisions about drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure needs.

The Water Finance Clearinghouse has two searchable databases: Funds and Resources. The Funds database contains potential funding sources for water infrastructure. The Resources database contains resources such as reports, case studies, and webinars about financing mechanisms and approaches that can help communities access capital to meet their water infrastructure needs. The Clearinghouse also hosts Water Finance learning modules which provide information on different financing sources and funding topics related to water infrastructure investments.

The Water Finance Clearinghouse was developed by EPA’s Water Infrastructure Finance and Resiliency Center, an information and assistance center identifying water infrastructure financing approaches that help communities reach their public health and environmental goals.

How do I use the Water Finance Clearinghouse?

The Water Finance Clearinghouse has two searchable databases: Funds and Resources. After users select a database to view, the database’s filter options, or search bar, can be used to refine results. Water finance learning modules can be accessed by selecting the Learning Modules tab.

There are two types of user accounts that can be created in the Water Finance Clearinghouse. These are the General User account and Contributer account.

What are the two types of accounts I can create in the Water Finance Clearinghouse?

The two types of Water Finance Clearinghouse accounts are the General User account and Contributor account.

The General User account allows users to “favorite” resources and funding opportunities for quick access at any time. General Users can also subscribe to email updates for news or updates about the Water Finance Clearinghouse.

The Contributor account can perform the same functions as the General User account. Additionally, the Contributor account allows users to suggest edits to existing information or additions of new resources and funding opportunities. Contributors can also suggest removal of resources and funding opportunities. Finally, Contributors can subscribe to email updates for updates to the Water Finance Clearinghouse.

Should I create an account?

A General User or Contributor account can allow for the Water Finance Clearinghouse to be used more comprehensively.

Valuable Contributors are those who represent entities that routinely publish or produce water finance-specific resources and/or those that manage water funding sources. These might include States, federal agencies, and other water sector stakeholders.

The Water Finance Clearinghouse can be used without creating an account.
Who maintains the Water Finance Clearinghouse?
The Water Finance Clearinghouse is maintained by EPA’s Water Infrastructure and Resiliency Finance Center, an information and assistance center identifying water infrastructure financing approaches that help communities reach their public health and environmental goals.
How often is the Water Finance Clearinghouse updated?
The Water Finance Clearinghouse is updated on a rolling basis.
Who updates the Water Finance Clearinghouse?
The Water Infrastructure and Resiliency Finance Center updates the Water Finance Clearinghouse. Users with Contributor accounts can suggest new resources or edits to funding opportunities at any time. If Contributor suggestions are approved by the Water Infrastructure and Resiliency Finance Center, the Clearinghouse will be updated with those suggestions.
